terms of service.
These terms govern your use of code2clip (the Service), operated by code2clip. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. The Service
code2clip lets you turn code snippets into short videos and still images. We host the rendering infrastructure, the editor UI, and the account management around it. The output you generate is yours to use.
2. Accounts
- You need a valid email and a secure password to use the Service.
- You're responsible for activity under your account. Keep your password safe.
- One person, one account. Sharing credentials is not allowed.
- You must be old enough in your jurisdiction to enter a contract.
3. Plans, payments & billing
Paid plans are billed through Polar, our merchant of record. Polar handles payment processing, sales tax, and refunds on our behalf.
- Plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period.
- You can cancel anytime from the Polar customer portal; your plan stays active until the end of the current period.
- Prices may change with at least 14 days' notice; existing renewals at the old price are honoured.
- Refund requests are reviewed case-by-case under Polar's policies.
4. Usage limits
Each plan includes a monthly clip allowance, a maximum output resolution, allowed aspect ratios, and a concurrency limit. The current limits live on the pricing page and are enforced server-side. Trying to circumvent them (e.g. via the API) is grounds for termination.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to:
- create content that violates the law where you live or where it's viewed;
- infringe anyone's intellectual-property or privacy rights;
- send spam, malware, or anything designed to harm a system or a person;
- resell access to the Service or expose it to third parties under your account.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe violate these rules. Where possible, we'll tell you why.
6. Your content
You keep all rights to the snippets, audio, and metadata you upload, and to the videos and images you render. You grant us a limited licence to store, process, transcode, and deliver that content for the sole purpose of operating the Service for you.
7. Our content
The Service's code, UI, fonts, sample assets, and the code2clip name and marks belong to us. You don't get a licence to those except as needed to use the Service. The Basic plan's watermark must remain on your outputs; removing or obscuring it requires a Pro or higher plan.
8. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties (Polar for billing, Resend for email, AWS for rendering, Neon for the database, Vercel for hosting). Outages or terms changes at those providers can affect the Service. We choose them carefully but don't control them.
9. Warranties & liability
The Service is provided as is. We don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability to you for any claim related to the Service is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
10. Changes
We may update these terms; if we make material changes we'll email you and update the effective date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
11. Termination
You can close your account anytime from the dashboard. We can terminate accounts that violate these terms. On termination, your renders remain available for a reasonable wind-down period, after which they may be deleted.
